New Wedding Trend That is Better Than Photography
Suppose you are wedding planning and only hired a photographer or videographer for your wedding day. In that case, you will be missing out on something greater!
Have you heard of live wedding painting? It is a new trend in the events industry, taking weddings by storm! It's exciting and entertaining! If you are a sentimental person who cares deeply about capturing and treasuring memories, this is the trend for you!
This wedding trend is stunning, and every bride should consider live painting at her wedding. Wedding planning is not easy, and I am sure another option for your wedding is a bit overwhelming! So, let me keep it simple and lay out all the facts for you.
Live Wedding Painting > Photography
Why would a live painting be better than photography? Well, of course, you need a wedding photographer and videographer at your wedding to record and capture what is physically happening at your wedding. But the great thing about live wedding painting is that your artist can paint anything into your piece of art; anything in the world.
Your artist will include any necessary details significant to you and your fiance. Whether including a special pet that you share, a specific symbol that represents your relationship, or even a loved one that has passed on/is hospital-bound.
Our pets are our children, despite what any Boomer might say. So if you want your pet "there" at your wedding, your artist can easily paint them into your painting. Birds, dogs, horses; I can paint them all. Let me know what child of yours you would want with you on your wedding day.
Sometimes a specific symbol would be significant for the two of you. Maybe you met playing in a volleyball league game, and having a volleyball in the corner of your piece would be a perfect reminder of that meet-cute. Or maybe you are high school sweethearts who were prom king and queen, so a crown as an easter egg would be just the thing your painting needs. Your artist can execute whatever you have in mind; this is a 100% custom piece.
We all have loved ones we imagine being there for every significant milestone. Unfortunately, for some of us, that is not always a reality that can come to fruition. Memory tables are notable for having the opportunity to observe the loved ones we wish were with us for this happy day. But a memory table is only something to appreciate on the day of your event.
Live wedding paintings are more personal than traditional photography. Wedding photography is a must for your big day, but there is only so much it can capture. Most of us can relate to losing someone close and special to us, but they will not be able to be photographed on our wedding day. For this reason, a painting is perfect.
Your artist will be able to paint your loved ones as if they were there. Or, if you prefer, they could paint in a symbol representing that loved one. An example I have seen before is a butterfly. I believe, for this example, she and her father raised monarch butterflies. Hence, to honor and remember him, her artist painted a butterfly into her wedding piece.
Could my grandma, who passed, be included in my wedding painting? Yes, all your artist needs is a reference photo to work from, and Grandma will be a part of the celebration, too. Live wedding painting allows you to have all your beloved family members together once more, in one spot.
The difference between photography and painting; photography can only capture what is there, and paintings can capture dreams.
What if the picture I have of my loved one is them in jeans and a t-shirt? When I am working from a photo, I just need a great shot of them; they do not need to be wearing dress clothes. Your artist can easily "dress" your loved one into the appropriate attire for your event.
Live wedding painting is a great idea for capturing your special day, your way! You deserve to have the wedding of your dreams. Since you were little, you have been picturing all of the little details. Sometimes all those details cannot come together, whether due to budget, lost loved ones, or Covid restrictions. But the remedy to these losses is live wedding painting.
Why a Live Painter?
What are the benefits of having a live wedding painter at my wedding? Everything you want for your wedding can and will be captured in your piece. You are the boss, the client and what you say goes. I am just there to make your dreams come true.
What's the best way for couples to plan a live painting? Look at your artist's previous work and see what speaks to you. Let your artist know what moment will be most important to you to have created. The two of you will work together to get a perfect piece.
How does it work? First, you will connect with your live painter to review your piece's essential details. Your artist will get there early on your big day to start painting in the background. From there, they will observe the moment you want to be painted, and they will complete your artwork over your reception.
Part of my process is finishing the piece on-site so that it is ready to go home with your gifts by the end of the night. This process is not always the case for every artist, so make sure you touch base on this.
To protect your piece, I will cover it in a protective varnish. This varnish will protect your work from fading and being affected by UV rays. This protective coating drys within minutes and is perfectly safe for you or your family to transport home after the wedding.
How long does a live painting take? Typically, 4-6 hours. It is dependent on the size piece you think you would like and how much detail your would like captured.
How do I pick my live wedding painter? Just as you took the time to pick out your photographer and videographer, I suggest you take time to get to know your artist. Every artist has their own style of creating paintings and, sometimes, different mediums.
Mediums are the materials a painting is made of; there are watercolor pieces, acrylic, oil, etc. You want to go with an artist who has a style you like and uses a medium that matches your aesthetic.
Live painters are a memorable option when it comes to wedding entertainment. Guest entrainment is on the minds of all wedding planners, such as yourself. A live painter is a great choice to engage your guest as they get to see your stunning painting come to life, from start to finish. When guests need a quick break to rest their dancing feet, they can swing by my easel.
With all the work and time you put into your wedding and all the grueling details you are taking in, I am sure you want your guests to stay the whole night. Keeping them entrained is going to be your priority to support them. There must be something to hold their attention when they take a break from dancing.
That something could be checking on the progress of the painting, inquiring about the piece, or just socializing with me. I am happy to chat your guests up and answer their excellent questions.
Live wedding painting is more than just a trend. It's an experience of a lifetime. Couples are always looking for ways to be unique on their wedding day. What better way to capture your most treasured moment from that day? In a painting, the essence of the venue, the experience, and your newly connected families will be wrapped up in your new family heirloom.
Is a Live Painting Worth the Investment?
Is a live wedding painter worth it? Yes, but I am biased. It is up to you and what your value is. If you are the type of person to feel sentimental, who cares for everyone, and are looking for a creative way to remember your big day…then this is the keepsake for you. If not, this may not be what you are looking for. Live painting is not for everyone's wedding.
Is it more expensive than hiring a photographer? Pricing is relevant based on experience and how much a photographer charges for a wedding day. A first-time wedding photographer could charge between $0 to $1,000, whereas a more experienced photographer could have packages that start at $3,500. The same logic applies to live event/wedding painters.
It would be worth the money. Who wouldn't want to remember their special day through a beautiful painting?! Your live painting will be the new centerpiece for your home, on display for you to look at daily. This will be a keepsake you can look upon and be transported back to that infamous day. Because your painting will be hung up, it will not be just another keepsake kept under your bed or in a closet.
Remember that what you're getting for this investment isn't just a painting. You're getting live entertainment (which for most weddings is roughly between $500 - $2,000), a painting that is of a customized memory (priceless, emotional value), and an original keepsake ($500-2,500.) So that is a value of $1,000-3,500 + emotional + rest of your life.
A lovely painting can give you an immediate keepsake to share on social media. Unlike a typical wedding photo album that will just get tucked away and brought out once a year on your anniversary, your painting is something you can share daily with your loved ones. Your painting is bound to turn some heads and warrant a conversation. What a piece to share on Instagram, Facebook, and even Tiktok!
Live wedding paintings also make great wedding gifts for parents and loved ones. It is true, your piece could be gifted to you as a wedding present, or you could gift it to a loved one of yours. Could you think of a more personable gift to receive? How special to have this as a surprise?
In conclusion,
Live wedding painting is better than photography because it is unique and adds a personal touch to your special day. An appealing aspect of live painting is its perception of your guests. You want to feel loved and make your guests feel appreciated; live wedding painting will do that for you and more.
Live wedding painting is a memorable way to memorialize your and your fiance's most significant day of your life. I know it is a cliche to say this is the "most important day of your life," but isn't it true? This will be the start of your lives together. Your wedding day is the foundation of the future life you will share. Let this painting be a homage to your story, your beginning, and your love.
